British students demand lower online tuition fees
More than 3,500 students from Loughborough University have signed a petition calling for the partial refund of their tuition fees. They claim that due to the transfer of classes into online space, their education quality has significantly decreased.
According to the petition, students at Loughborough University believe that the full tuition cost for the education transferred online until at least February 2021 is far too high. At the same time, British citizens pay for studying at this university is almost two times less than this of foreign students. Students emphasise that they are dissatisfied with the difference in fees and the lack of interaction with teachers, as well as closed campuses. Furthermore, libraries, gyms and many other facilities are also closed. A university spokesman said there would be no reduction in tuition fees, but students were offered a discount on dorm accommodation.
