In China, the number of online learners exceeded 340 million people
At the end of 2020, the Chinese authorities recorded unprecedented demand for educational online platforms.
According to the report on the development of the Internet in China, the number of online students reached 342 million people, which is 34% of all Internet users in the country.
This growth indicates the development and prospects of online education. As the report states, this trend can improve the level of education among Chinese citizens and contribute to the modernization of the modern educational system.
As of November 2020, 99% of primary and secondary schools, including even the poorest schools in remote regions of China, successfully used the Internet for teaching.
Over the past year, there were more than 80,000 new educational companies in China. Thus, in 2020, the EdTech industry raised about $6 billion, which is 25% more than in 2019.
