Artificial Intelligence to Be Integrated into American Schools

Leading technology companies are expected to be engaged in developing online resources aimed at teaching children the proper use of neural networks. Nonprofit organizations, scientific institutions, and universities with experience in AI education will also collaborate with schools. Additionally, the U.S. President believes that such measures are necessary for preschool children as well, so preparing the younger generation to use neural networks will start in kindergarten.

A special task force established at the White House will oversee the integration of AI into the education system. The group includes the Secretaries of Education and Labor, the President's Special Advisor on Artificial Intelligence and Cryptocurrency, and the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy. The National Science Foundation (NSF) will also be involved, conducting research on the use of artificial intelligence in educational institutions.

Moreover, the AI integration process in schools will involve not only teaching children but also training teachers to use neural networks effectively, for example, to reduce administrative work. It will also include incorporating AI capabilities into all academic subjects and developing new educational programs. Within 120 days of the publication of the order, signed on April 23, members of the AI Integration Task Force must provide grants for educators and students. Additional funding will be allocated to improve the education system using cutting-edge technologies.

The U.S. government is concerned about losing its leading position in AI and other innovative fields, particularly in light of the rapidly advancing Chinese IT sector. Chinese schoolchildren and students are already known for their active use of AI in education. For instance, students using the domestic platform Squirrel AI show 20-30% better results compared to those studying solely through traditional methods. Furthermore, starting at the end of 2024, AI education was officially recognized at the national level by China's Ministry of Education.

In addition to China, the Ministries of Education in Australia and Israel have also launched national programs to integrate AI into their school education systems.
