Parole O Stili study: The quality of education in Italy has declined due to the transition to a remote learning format
A study by the expert group Parole O Stili and the Toniolo Institute, published March 18, showed that school students are having difficulty transitioning to online learning.
The study involved high school students aged 14 to 20 years, as well as their teachers. As a result, 40% of respondents said that the quality of education decreased dramatically over the past year.
65% percent of students are tired of online classes. Simultaneously, most students are distracted during classes:
- 96% of respondents admitted to chatting with classmates during class;
- 89% of those surveyed look at social media news feeds;
- 88% of those surveyed eat;
- 39% of those surveyed engaged in cooking.
In Italy, the school year began on September 14. To this day, most students, except for primary school students, study remotely. Strict lock-down measures are in place for those who remain in school, and it is strictly forbidden for students to remove their masks indoors. Moreover, in some schools, students also sit at single-seat desks.
