US universities take Government to court

US universities take Government to court

| News

Johns Hopkins University and Harvard University have filed a lawsuit against the US government.

This was a reaction to the US Govt order forcing foreign students taking online classes to leave the country. The case against the Government was filed in the Federal Court of the US District of Columbia.

University rectors have spoken out against foreign students leaving the United States in the event of education switching over to the online format. In the lawsuit, they pointed out that such action would conflict with the plans of universities to restore full-time in-person classes in the next academic year.

"Such a decision of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency does not have sufficient justification, and should be reconsidered," commented representatives of Johns Hopkins and Harvard Universities.
