In her article for Psychologies, Lectera founder and CEO Mila Semeshkina describes in five ways how she has managed to achieve this.
When you enjoy the whole process of learning, you are happy to put in the time and effort needed, without procrastinating or having any undue stress! Which sounds perfect, but just how do you instil this love of learning within yourself?
- Choose your pace. If you feel that you aren't able to absorb your learning materials, slow down, and experiment, develop a bite-size learning approach: split the lessons into "blocks." Which means you can study for just 15-20 minutes a day. Lectera courses, by the way, are simply perfect for this!
- Build a mastermind. Gather a group of like-minded people who are learning at the very same pace as yourself or working on a similar course. Share your experiences and achieve your goals together.
- Find the problem. What exactly do you hate about learning so much that it has made you lose the desire to learn? Maybe it is because it is a complicated subject, a work technique, or the educational format? Just eliminate the unappealing factors.
- Create rituals. Think back to your school days: the bell rings and you involuntarily concentrate on the lesson because the bell activates the habit. Develop a good practice of performing a particular action before learning. For example, drink a glass of water or have a cup of tea.
- Practice more! As soon as you have mastered a new skill, try it out instantly in real life. This is also one of the principles of our Fast Education approach.
