The extension of the distance learning format in schools in the Novosibirsk region has led to increased teacher workload, according to Deputy Governor Irina Manuilova.
Teaching lessons online comes hand in hand with organizational and psychological difficulties, she said. This format of the educational process negatively impacted the student's performance and resulted in increased stress.
Irina Manuylova is currently engaged in the development of science, culture and innovation in the Novosibirsk region. She believes that to optimize distance learning and solve its problems, it is vital to restructure the organization of remote lessons, adjust the schedule and supply students with modern computers at the expense of the taxpayer.
"Due to the pandemic and the quick transition to the remote teaching format, teachers, schoolchildren and even parents have faced many teething problems. After the lockdown was extended, the teacher workload became even worse. However, it is worth noting that we are already restructuring the approach to the work of teachers to facilitate their work", added Irina.
According to Yandex research, over 75% of Russian teachers showed symptoms of professional burnout. All groups of school teachers regardless of their gender, age and professional experience revealed equal levels of burnout.
